Globama-Man: To Russia With Love/& Recommended Reading

I promise I have plenty of serious Middle East analysis coming up for you in the next few days but this is for your entertainment in a most difficult time of history. As for Middle East content, let me call your attention to two important articles.

Raymond Stock, "The Donkey, the Camel, and the Facebook Scam: How the Muslim Brotherhood Conquered Egypt and Conned the World," is the best account to date of how the Brotherhood camouflaged its domination of the Egyptian revolution from the beginning. Stock, who lived in Egypt for twenty years before being expelled by the Mubarak regime, tells you what you need to do about what I call the worst-covered story in modern Middle East history.

Aymenn Jawad Al-Tamimi, "Rethinking Libya," is an upcoming star in Middle East analysis who is thoughtful and generally accurate. In this article, he not only analyzes the Libyan election but also sets an example for us all in correcting his own earlier view on the issue. I'm waiting for a final count before drawing my own conclusions but al-Tamimi seems to be right on how and why the Islamists lost the election there.
